Terms of Service

Effective April 7, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using PDFGorilla.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PDFGorilla (the "Service"), including our website, applications, APIs, and related features. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization.

2. The Service

PDFGorilla provides tools to design PDF templates, generate PDF documents, use an optional AI copilot to assist with templates, and access programmatic interfaces (such as API keys) subject to your plan limits. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practicable.

3. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Plans, billing, and taxes

Free and paid plans may be offered. Fees, features, and usage limits are described on our pricing page and may change; material changes will be communicated in advance where required. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Polar). You authorize us and our processor to charge your payment method. Taxes may apply based on your location. Except where required by law or as stated at checkout, payments are non-refundable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limitation, you must not:

  • Violate applicable law or infringe others' rights.
  • Upload or generate content that is unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, harassing, or that contains malware.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other accounts, or to probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorization.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service (including circumventing rate limits or quotas), except to the extent such restrictions are unenforceable under law.
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission, or use the Service to compete with us in a way that breaches these Terms.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of content you submit ("Customer Content"), such as templates, sample data, assets, and API payloads. You grant us a worldwide license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit Customer Content. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or the law.

7. AI features

If you use AI-assisted features, you understand that outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete and are not professional or legal advice. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before use in production. You must not use the AI features in violation of applicable laws or third-party terms that apply to underlying model providers.

8. Third-party services

The Service may interoperate with third-party services (for example payment processing, hosting, analytics, email delivery, cloud storage, or AI providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

9. Our IP and feedback

We own the Service, our branding, and our software, excluding your Customer Content. If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PDFGORILLA NOR ITS SUPPLIERS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50), IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us and our affiliates, officers, and employees against any third-party claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Customer Content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of law.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, risk to the Service or others, or legal requirements. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example by email or in-product notice). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on this subject. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

16. Governing law and disputes

Unless mandatory local law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFGorilla is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you a right to bring claims in your home jurisdiction.
